Norrie Thomas is an author, scientist, businesswoman, and artist. She holds her BS, MS, and PhD degrees from the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy, and she studied as a visiting researcher at the London School of Economics. She was a pioneer of the pharmacy benefits field and founding member of national pharmacy association, the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP). Norrie also published a fictional murder mystery entitled Murder Under the Oak, which was set in England; The Needlepointer, reflections on 30 years of color and artistry, and An Unbalanced Success, a memoir of her experiences as a woman executive advancing in the evolving pharmacy benefits industry. Norrie Thomas has launched, sold, and founded several pharmacy managed care companies, including one of the first pharmacy benefit management companies, Clinical Pharmacy Advantage. She has held many senior management positions at MedCenters Health Plans, Aetna, Clinical Pharmacy Advantage, McKesson, PCS, Eli Lilly, St. Jude Medical, Schering-Plough, and Magellan Health Services.
